AIOPA - Monthly Meeting
Atlanta Inter-Orthodox Parish Association Meeting 03/25/2025
Attendees: Fr. Christos Mars, Fr. George Ascente, Evelyn Kemp, Mirjana Milosevic-Brockett, and Jackie Sarantis

Fr. Christos welcomed everyone and thanked them for their time and efforts with AIOPA.
He shared with us that he participated in an interview with the Assembly of Bishops hosted by Spyridoula Fotinis, asking the following questions:
#1 - Can you tell us about the history of collaboration in the Atlanta area? (clergy brotherhood, lay organizations, etc.).
#2 - In the Fall of 2024 the Atlanta Inter-Parish Association hosted the Assembly of Bishops for their annual meeting, which we are very grateful to you for. It was really awesome to see the shared spirit of collaboration amongst the parishes and visit some of the parishes. Can you tell us a little bit about the experience of hosting the meeting? What has the Inter-Parish Association been up to since the meeting and what are you looking forward to?
#3 - My final question is what is your favorite moment or experience of Pan-Orthodoxy in Atlanta?
He also shared that he had a meeting with Timothy Dachraoui from Sts. RNI who is helping to get the AIOPA website back in order so that it once again becomes a hub for all things Orthodox in the Atlanta area. Soon we will need each parish to send items that should be posted to the Greater Orthodox Community so that we can advertise it through the AIOPA website. Additionally, we will be asking each parish to added AIOPA as link or tab on their website as well.
He also shared that the Pentecost Picnic will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 3pm at St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church in Athens, GA. More information will follow in the next month.

o Additionally, an Atlanta Greek Festival Drive Thru will take place from Friday to Sunday, April 4-6. (see attached flier)
o The Archdiocesan Philoptochos will host their Medical Luncheon the weekend of September 27-28, 2025. Click HERE for more info.
o The Atlanta Greek Festival will take place October 2-5.
· Sts. Constantine and Helen Romanian Episcopate
o Spring Hram Festival will take place from May 17-18
· Sts. Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Greek Orthodox Church
o The Cumming Greek Festival will take place October 17-19.
· St. Christopher Greek Orthodox Church
o Will host the Central Conference Oratorical Festival on Saturday, March 29.
o Annual Greek Festival will take place on Saturday, August 16.
o South Atlanta Annual Golf Classic will take place on Monday, October 27.
· St. Mary of Egypt ROCOR
o Will host a Young Adult Symposium from May 30 – June 1. (see attached flier)
· The Liturgical Arts Academy will be hosting their workshop from August 17-23. Please see the attached flier for more information and registration options or visit their website HERE.
