AIOPA - Monthly Meeting

Atlanta Inter-Orthodox Parish Association Meeting 10/27/2025

Attendees: Fr. Christos Mars, Dn. Cecil Mitchell, Spyridoula Fotinis and Evelyn Kemp

Fr. Christos welcomed everyone and thanked them for their time and efforts with AIOPA.

Our focus is on several events taking place in the coming months.

1)    Dinner in Honor of Metropolitan Alexios on Friday, November 7

2)    Archangel Michael Dinner and Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 8

3)    Pan-Orthodox Candlelight Service and Christmas Concert on Sunday December 21 with Fr. Elias Dorham as our guest homilist.

4)    Sunday of Orthodoxy Pan-Orthodox Vespers with His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Nyssa as our guest.

Spyridoula gave us an update from the Assembly of Bishops and mentioned that they will be being in two weeks in Denver for their XIV Assembly of Bishops meetings. One of the features will be AIOPA. We will be praying for their gathering and work!

·      The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta

o   Retirement Dinner for Metropolitan Alexios with proceeds benefitting the Diakonia Retreat Center Panagia Chapel on Friday, November 7. Get your tickets HERE

o   Annual Archangel Michael Awards and Banquet on Saturday, November 8. Get your tickets HERE

o   Winter Youth Rally takes place from December 27-30. Information about the event can be found HERE

·      The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation

o   Philoptochos Pita and Koulouria Sale. Order by November 12 HERE

o   Philoptochos Toys for Tots dinner on Thursday, November 13. Reserve your seats HERE

·      Sts. Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Greek Orthodox Church

o   Will have their St. Nicholas Holiday Market on Saturday, November 15 (See attached flier)

o   Parish Life Event will take place during Great Lent. More information will follow.

o   Other wonderful parish level things have taken place and they look forward to their parish ministries growing!

·      St. John the Wonderworker OCA

o   Their Harvest Fair will take place this coming Saturday, November 1 from 2-5pm

o   Fellowship of St. Moses the Black recently had a conference that went really well.

o   Prison Ministry letter writing to the prisoners is taking place and would like for this to be part of AIOPA so that all the Orthodox Parish can participate.
