The best gift a person can give to another is their “Time.” Join family and friends to volunteer your service at one of the great six organizations listed below! There is a variety available for all ages!!

  • Volunteers will meet at our Cathedral’s Carlos Hall for a Prayer Breakfast the morning of Saturday of Service

  • Each organization has an assigned SPOM Captain, who will contact Volunteers & will be your point of contact; They will assist in all details required of you & answer questions for your respective Organization*

Helping Mamas (9am-12noon) 447 Park Drive—Norcross, GA 30093

Captain: Vickie Klemis  

·  No. Volunteers (15)

·  Age Limit: 8 years up

·  Waiver: Yes (Adult & Child – included on link)

·  Assist with Mobile Drive-Up; inventory, organize donations, sort clothing & baby supplies

·  Warehouse, dress for weather; closed-toe shoes

Hope Lodge (8:30am-11am) (American Cancer Society - Richard M. Shulze Family Foundation) 1552 Shoup Ct—Decatur, GA 30033

Captain: Argie Sirmans  

·  No. Volunteers: 6

·  Age Limit: 14 years up

·  Waiver:  No

·  Prepare & serve lite breakfast; visit with patients & caregivers; clean kitchen

·  Mask required during visit

FODAC & FODAC Thrift Store (9:30am-12:30pm) (Friends of Disabled Adults & Children) 4900 Lewis Rd.—Tucker, GA 30083

·  Age Limit: 14 years up (consent form from Parent)

·  Processing donations; clean, prepare & stock; assist staff at Thrift Store

·  Dress: Jeans, tennis shoes, light jacket

The Farm @ Good Samaritan Health Ctr (9am-11am) 1015 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy—Atlanta, GA 30318

·  Age Limit: 12 years up

·  Waiver: No

·  Planting & Mulching

·  Dress: Closed-toe shoes; recommends long sleeves, pants, hat & water

 Nicholas House (9:30am-12noon) 830 Boulevard—Atlanta, GA 30312

Captain: Tula Blackwelder 

·  No. Volunteers: 10

·  Age Limit: 9 - 15 years; 8 years & below with parent

·  Waiver: Yes, completed upon arrival

·  Decorate Foyer in Autum-theme; indoor games, activities with young children up to teens; welcome to bring cards, board games to play and donate.

·  Masks suggested, but not required

ReStore – Habitat for Humanity (10am-1:30pm) 271 Chester Ave, SE—Atlanta, GA 30316

·  No. Volunteers: 5

·  Age Limit: 16 years up

·  Waiver: Yes (Included on link)

· Merchandising, greet customers, product testing items stock shelves, some physical activity may be involved

· Sign in at 9:45am with other groups

· Register by Saturday, October 7
